An energy company plans on using new drilling technology to get geothermal power any time anywhere.
The drilling system uses microwaves to dig 6 to 12 miles and get virtually unlimited geothermal energy.
Unlike solar and wind power that depend on the availability of sunlight and wind, geothermal energy will likely always be available. This is because the Earth’s core is always burning.
Another good news is that the team won’t be making new geothermal plants. Instead, they will use old oil and gas plants, which are more cost-efficient, and allow others to join the clean energy transition.
If successful, the firm could forever change how we produce renewable energy.
