Microplastics are infiltrating our bodies through food and drink, but scientists have found a simple way to remove them from water.
Researchers from Guangzhou Medical University and Jinan University in China discovered that boiling and filtering water can remove up to 90% of nanoplastics and microplastics (NMPs). The effectiveness varies with water type, with hard tap water showing better results due to limescale trapping the plastics. This method, using common kitchen tools, could reduce human NMP intake.
