Scientists at Göttingen University in Germany developed a technique for turning popcorn into safe and sustainable insulation panels.
The panels have excellent thermal capabilities and good fire protection. But the biggest benefit is that they are plant-based and ecologically friendly.
Once questions about longevity and resistance to pests are resolved, popcorn insulation has the potential to become a viable alternative to the petroleum-based products that currently dominate the construction industry.
What do you think of this discovery? Do you feel that popcorn insulation can one day replace the unsustainable choices we currently have? Please let us know in the comments below.
