A study from the University of Copenhagen has found that urolithin A, a substance naturally occurring in pomegranates, can improve memory and help treat Alzheimer’s disease.
Conducted on mice with Alzheimer’s, the research demonstrated that urolithin A alleviates memory problems and other dementia symptoms. A professor at the university highlighted that this substance removes weak mitochondria from the brain, similar to how NAD supplements work, improving brain function.
While clinical trials on humans are planned, the effective dosage for humans remains unknown. The study offers hope for preventive treatments for Alzheimer’s with minimal side effects.
