Eating nuts daily can boost your brain health

A study of over 50,000 participants from the UK Biobank suggests that daily nut consumption could lower dementia risk, especially in non-obese, nonsmoking individuals with healthy sleep habits.

Those who ate 30 grams of nuts daily showed a 16% reduced risk of dementia, which increased to 17% with unsalted nuts. However, benefits were mostly observed in people over 60 who met certain lifestyle criteria. Nuts are rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, which may support brain health, though further research is needed to confirm the long-term impact. This study adds to growing evidence that diet, such as the Mediterranean diet, can play a role in dementia prevention.
