How mindfulness meditation naturally reduces pain

New research shows that mindfulness meditation can significantly reduce pain, beyond the placebo effect. 

In a study involving 115 participants, MRI scans revealed that mindfulness reduced both the intensity and emotional response to pain, unlike placebo treatments that primarily affect pain expectations. By focusing on sensory experiences without judgment, mindfulness meditation alters how the brain processes pain, making it a drug-free, cost-effective option for pain relief.
