Chinese scientists created an AI robot system that cares for human embryos growing in artificial wombs.
The team designed the robot to monitor and care for human embryos by adjusting the nutrition and other vital factors. While no human trials have been conducted yet, the scientists claim the system to be safer and more efficient in growing embryos than a natural womb. It is still in the concept phase, tested on animal embryos.
The researchers likely wouldn’t be cleared for human trials, given laws on experimenting with human fetuses.
The technology could help boost China’s population and uncover unsolved mysteries about human embryo development. It could also help solve birth defects and reproductive health problems.
Do you think this system will be allowed for human use, or will it remain a concept? Would you like to witness the technology applied to humans?
