Share 2 EVs in1 charging port

General Motors aims to make electric vehicle charging easier with a new charging design that enables two cars to share the same port at once.

The daisy-chain arrangement enables one car to plug into an electric vehicle charging port as the other car plugs into the first car.  This way, they both charge up at once.  The basic idea is to support the ability of an electric vehicle battery to charge another device.  The system would work because of how GM configured batteries in upcoming models.

While this design is so far a patent filing, it could have widespread implications once it pans out.  It can be used for business fleets, employee workplace charging, and other situations where doubling up on a charging port is beneficial and doable.

Are you hopeful that this two-in-one charging system will develop soon?  Let us know your thoughts.
