Telekinesis and metamaterials

Real-life telekinesis can actually be achieved using artificially engineered materials or metamaterials.

The human brain generates brain waves during the thinking process.  With this knowledge, Chinese researchers hypothesized that collecting and using these brain waves as control signals would allow people to manipulate metamaterial surfaces or metasurfaces with their minds.  The team used Bluetooth to control the brain waves from the user to the controller.  Their study ultimately found that the user could effectively manipulate the scattering pattern and its outcome.

Work still needs to be done to optimize the telekinetic process.  Nevertheless, it’s exciting to think that what used to be pure fiction can become a reality, with applications in the health sector, smart sensors, and communications.

Do you think the technology is safe?  What do you think of this major breakthrough?  Let us know your thoughts.
