Remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere using algae blooms

An inventive company called Brilliant Planet removes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere using algae blooms.

Scientists have been using algae photosynthesis as an alternative fuel and power source.  During the process, algae use sunlight and carbon dioxide to produce energy.  The company wants to take advantage of the carbon-capture capability of algae to help clean the atmosphere.  The process is achieved without using essential freshwater.  Instead, it uses ocean water and de-acidify it.  The technology is also solar-powered.

While changes in human behavior can lower carbon levels, it just takes time.  So these algae farms can cost-effectively help clean the air.  It also cleans ocean waters to pre-industrial levels.

Do you think these algae farms have a significant impact on cleaning our air?  How else can we lower carbon dioxide in our atmosphere and control the effects of global warming?  Please leave a comment below.
